Propylene glycol and phenyl alcohol:
PPH is added into the latex system and distributed in both the aqueous (polymeric) phase. The film-forming effectiveness of PPH is dependent on the low distribution coefficient it has in both phases. This allows for good plasticizing effects and an appropriate balance of volatilization rates. PPH has a light odor and is colorless. The vast majority of latex resin and latex have strong dissolution capabilities. Water solubility in latex is very low to make sure that the latex paint is completely absorbed by the latex particles. It is also important to maintain good storage stability and to provide the best possible coalescence performance.

Propylene glycol-phenylether, which is slow to evaporate solvent from the reaction between phenol and a moleof propylene dioxide, is an inert solvent. It can also be used to substitute the toxic odors of DBE, DBE, isophorone, DBE, DBE or benzohexanone.
As a film-forming agent and co-solvent in stabilized formulations for metalworking fluids. It can also be used to enhance the repellency of hard-surface cleaners. Due to its high miscibility and moderate volatilization, excellent cohesion and coupling capability, low surface tension and good miscibility it’s widely used in automobile and auto repair coatings.
